January walk in the Cairngorms area of Scotland across the 'Burma Road'
In January, we did a loop walk in the central Scottish Highlands from Slochd summit up the Dulnain river , then over the Burma road and back north over the hills to the Slochd. we had some great open views across snowy terrain.
Brian and Martina are walking AGAIN! This time we are on the "Hayduke Trail" which is not yet a recognised and maintained longdistance trail but more of a notional route linking Arches, Canoyonlands, Capital Reef, Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon National Parks together in 850 miles of fantastic sandstone canyon and mountain hiking and scrambling. We start first week in April and hope to complete in mid June 2014. Previous entries document our walk from Mexico to Canada along the Rockies on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) in 2009. The CDT is about 2,800 miles and took 5 months to walk. It follows the crest of the Rocky Mountains where possible - through the states of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
